history of AGUA VIVA

the beginnings

Living Water Community Church began its journey in 1980 in the San Blas area of Madrid. We have always combined our spiritual ministry as a church with social work.

We started our work in the pastoral home, we continued for many years in a rented house which we used as a rehabilitation center for young men with drug problems. Some time later we were able to rent a bigger house, to accommodate up to 40 young men at a time. The work was done with much sacrifice and with minimal resources. But we can say that God always provided us with everything that we needed.

During the first 20 years of work, we were able to help more than 800 young drug addicts and their families.

We had hardworking collaborators who have allowed us to minister in different areas of God's work, such as plays in big theaters in Madrid (Cine Voz, Teatro Monumental, etc.), songs and Christmas plays acted by our children on TV as well as town halls. We have also collaborated in the organization and development of many conferences, a Bible institute, all while attending to our responsibilities with our social work and our church.

In 1986, our center was moved to Paracuellos de Jarama (Madrid), where we continued our Christian work until today.

From 1997, our church has been working in supporting women who suffered domestic violence and their children. Our work has achieved great recognition and support from various social institutions and the media.

For many years, and without leaving our social work aside, Living Water Community Church has made a firm commitment to the "vision” to win and unite the greatest number of people possible from the Madrid area for Christ. We believe firmly that the work must be done by all believers and it is our mission to make every member a leader. We have started to see great results: attendance at our church has grown to about 70 people.

With God's help, we carry on towards the vision of working in the Great Commission of winning and uniting many for the Kingdom of God. To do this, we have incorporated a valuable tool into our work; inviting people to home meetings in our surroundings to encourage them to read and study the Word of God, giving a New Testament to those who do not own a Bible and talking about the Gospel no that they have a personal encounter with Christ.

Our mission is to preach the Gospel as an important part of our Christian faith, obeying the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ before He ascended to heaven: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything 1 have commanded you. And surely 1 corn with you always, to the very end of the age.. (Matthew 28:19-20)

We kindly invite you to contact us and attend our church meetings.

Pastors of Living Water Community Church

But someone will say: "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe - and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

James 2:18-20

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:8-10
